Maren Morris has selected her next single: "I Could Use a Love Song," Track No. 4 on her debut album, Hero.

"I Could Use a Love Song" was written by Morris, Laura Veltz and Jimmy Robbins and finds the singer heartbroken. She's feeling jaded about love and wishing that she could go back "to a time when I wouldn't roll my eyes / At a guy and a girl / Who make it work ..."

"I wish I didn’t know so much / I peeked behind the curtain / Now that magic rush / Feels like a trick that isn’t working," Morris admits in the song's second verse. Still, she's heartbroken but not completely hopeless: "Yeah, it’s hurting, but it ain’t dead," Morris sings.

"I Could Use a Love Song" follows the decidedly more uptempo "My Church" and "'80s Mercedes" in Morris' run of singles from Hero. The rising star announced the song as a single at the New Faces of Country Music show, held on Friday night (Feb. 24) during the 2017 Country Radio Seminar. On Monday (Feb. 27), she tweeted that she was filming the single's music video.

A recent Grammy Awards winner (for Best Country Solo Performance, for her hit single “My Church“), Morris is also nominated for six ACM Awards, including New Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, for Hero, in 2017. The 26-year-old is currently headlining her own Hero Tour, and will serve as an opening act on Sam Hunt‘s 15 in a 30 Tour this summer.
