Grand Opening of Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum This Saturday
The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum in Cuero will officially open its doors with a dedication ceremony and tours this Saturday. Former Texas governor Mark White is the keynote speaker. The schedule of events is as follows;
• 9 – 9:45 am Museum ground open with light fare from chuck wagons; chance to have photo with a Longhorn
• 10 - 11 am Dedication Ceremony
• 11 am – 2pm Chuck wagon grub and family fun continues
• 11:30 am Tours of Museum begin
The display will feature a Colt Model 1877 revolver, serial number 73,728, once owned by notorious American outlaw, John Wesley Hardin (1853-1895), on loan from the Kurt House Collection. Other priceless objects include world-class Horsemen of the Americas—Tinker Collection.
The museum is located at 302 N Esplanade Street in Cuero.
