Goliad Band To Host Scholarship Concert This Sunday

This Sunday everyone has a great chance to support the youth of Goliad High School by attending a scholarship fund raiser put on by the Goliad High School Band.

The Goliad Tiger Band will host the first ever Fred Rigsby Memorial Scholarship for Extended Studies Concert at 2:30 p.m. on May 6, says the Victoria Advocate. The concert in the Goliad High School Auditorium will feature performances by state-bound solo and ensembles students, the Tiger Jazz Orchestra and the scholarship recipient for this school year.

The concert is free and open to the public, but there will be a donation box setup for those who wish to contribute to this scholarship fund and help ensure future students can participate in educational opportunities outside of South Texas.

This year's recipient was invited to travel Europe with an all-star band made from the best musicians in Texas. For more information contact the GHS Band Office at 361-645-3257, extension 128.
