If you had to name one artist that epitomizes country music, particularly from the 50s, 60s, and 70s (and beyond), it would have to be 'The Possum', George Jones. The fact is, he continues to draw huge crowds to his performances even today.

George Jones is continuing to recuperate at home after being dismissed Tuesday (4/3) from a Nashville-area hospital for treatment of an upper respiratory infection. CMT Daily Roundup reports that the 80-year-old singer was hospitalized March 29th after canceling a March 24th concert in Peoria, Illinois. Initially scheduled for an overnight stay, he remained in the hospital where he was treated with antibiotics. According to the Country Music Hall of Fame member's website, he will resume his touring schedule with an April 20th appearance at a casino in Mahnomen, Minnesota.

Everyone at KIXS 108 wishes Mr. Jones a full and speedy recovery and we look forward to more great country music from 'The Possum'.
