Garth Brooks Adds Even More Columbus Dates

Country music fans in Columbus, Ohio seemingly can't get enough of Garth Brooks. The country music icon has added two more dates to his upcoming run of shows there, bringing the total to six.

Brooks initially announced a single date for Columbus, returning to the market after an absence of 19 years to perform at the Schottenstein Center on April 23. But advance demand for tickets was so high that he added three more dates on April 15, April 16 and April 22 before tickets even went on sale on Feb. 26, and when the shows finally did go on sale, the demand for seats proved to be even greater than anticipated, forcing Brooks to schedule two more dates on April 17 and 24 to accommodate his fans. Brooks sold 35,000 tickets in Columbus within 30 minutes of the shows going on sale, and by the end of the day Friday he had moved a whopping total of 76,000 tickets, with all six shows still selling.

The upcoming Columbus dates are part of Brooks' ongoing World Tour, which began in late 2014 and is slated to continue for possibly as long as three years. Brooks' wife, Trisha Yearwood, is also featured on the tour, which has been a massive success, selling out multiple nights in many markets, including Louisville, Ottawa and Las Vegas.  Pollstar crowned Brooks the top touring country artist for the first half of 2015, and he also topped Forbes‘ year-end list of the highest-earning stars in country music, with total earnings of $90 million.

Brooks plans to wrap the tour in Nashville, but has given no indication of when that might take place.
