Fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables will be the star of the show when a farmers market comes to DeLeon Plaza in downtown Victoria in April.

According to a published report in the Victoria Advocate, Victoria City Councilors voted unanimously to designate the plaza as a market. The market will be led by the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, and farmers and producers from all over the Crossroads will be invited to participate in the market. Along with fresh produce and other items for sale at the market, food trucks, live music and other community-related events will be part of the market.

Officials plan to have a 'soft' opening April 9th, with a grand opening April 23rd, with the market open each Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, weather permitting. I
