Event to Benefit Girl Scouts Outreach Program

The Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas is hosting its Power of the Purse event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hilton Garden Inn. The silent and live auction gives attendees an opportunity to bid on brand name purses. Money raised benefits the Girl Scouts' outreach program, says the Victoria Advocate. Tickets are $40 or $75 for two people; this includes hors d'oeuvres. Dr. Yahagi and the Mended Hearts also will perform.
