We reported a while back that the number of eligible voters registering to vote in the Presidential election hit new highs in the state, and when it comes to early voting, records are being set here in Victoria county.

According to official figures from County Elections Administrator George Matthews, 463 people voted yesterday (Sunday), bringing the total number of in person early voters so far to 10,076. Mail in ballots received is at 2,396 making the grand total of early voters of 12,474.

That trend is consistent statewide, as officials say a number of Texas counties are breaking early voting records.

Early voting continues through November 4t. at the Victoria County Elections Office at 2805 N. Navarro St. For more information, call the Victoria County Elections Office at 361-576-0124.
