Twenty-two-year-old Dylan Jakobsen is releasing "Silverado" as the first single from his forthcoming From Where I Began album, and readers of The Boot get to hear it first in this exclusive premiere.

"Silverado" is a mid-tempo song that showcases Jakobsen's classic sound and passionate vocals as well as his vivid storytelling. Press play below to hear the tune.

“Nothing’s ever felt more right," Jakobsen says about "Silverado" and his upcoming record. "I'm just creating the kind of music I love, and country’s [become] a part of me."

The project was mixed by Nashville's Billy Decker, who has worked with artists such as Chris Young, Sam Hunt and Parmalee.

"Billy’s mixes are one of a kind and elevate each song to their full potential," Jakobsen notes. "If you look at the people he’s worked with, you can hear in each hit that he’s the guy that makes your songs stand out. That’s what I wanted for my whole album … a standout group of songs that fit in just enough to make a splash."

The artist describes From Where I Began as "a collection of my favorite songs that I handpicked to bring on the road with me this summer," and notes that its title track "is one of the more vulnerable songs I’ve ever written."

"... I believe in myself and believe in my music," Jakobsen continues. "I don’t wanna be another one of many, I wanna write the songs I want to write, and I wanna bust my a-- to show that this is where I’m supposed to be."

In additional to singing and playing guitar, Jakobsen plays the harmonica, drums, pedal steel, mandolin and banjo while songwriting. He has supported numerous big country names, including Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Montgomery Gentry, among others.

From Where I Began is available on iTunes for pre-order now. The album is set for release on March 15.
