The Houston Astros struck out 11 times last night as the L.A. Dodgers Clayton Kershaw silenced the Astros bats for the most part, and the Dodgers took game 1 of the World Series 3-1.

Playing in an unseasonal 103 degree heat, 3-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw pitched a nearly flawless game against the Astros, which was preserved by relievers Brandon morrow and Kenley Jansen.

Houston meanwhile couldn't score more than a a solo Alex Bregman homer in the 4th to tie the game, but the Astros were beaten on a 2-run homer in the 6th inning by Justin Turner.

Game 2 is set for tonight at 7 in L.A.
