KIXS 108 is very proud to recognize Reagan Lee Mikulec for her academic achievement!

Reagan Lee Mikulec, a fourth-grade student at Industrial Elementary West, has been selected as a candidate in the Distinguished Youth of Texas Scholarship and Recognition Program at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel in San Antonio on Nov. 23-25.

Reagan is an A honor roll student and is active in youth volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, Little League softball, Girl Scouts and the St. Joseph Catholic Church, says the Victoria Advocate. She is the daughter of Ryan and Persephone Mikulec, of Inez. Her grandparents are George and Connie Filley, of Victoria, and Molly Mikulec, of Inez, and the late Ronnie Mikulec.

The Distinguished Youth Program is designed to recognize girls who rank high academically and who are leaders in their schools and communities. During the competition, two Texas students will be chosen to receive a $1,000 United States Savings Bond and the right to serve as a state program titleholder for one year. In addition, both winners will receive $250 to present to their respective schools from the Distinguished Youth Program. In all, more than $5,000 in awards and prizes will be presented to various participants. The finals are Nov. 25.

Reagan will be sponsored by Crossroads MRI, her parents and grandparents, great-grandmother, Alice Minatre; godparents, John and Francis McNeill; Nancy Kopecky; uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Rachel Collins; and aunt, Constance Filley-Johnson.
