In this season of giving, it's a good feeling to know that the country artists you like and support are out there giving of themselves. Darius Rucker is one of those guys. After the demise of Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius gave the country music wheel a spin and, wow, did it ever take off for him. The country music community welcomed him with open arms and made him a musical star for the second time in his life. This fact is not lost on Mr. Rucker. He makes a point of giving back to his fans.

While we are all in the mood to love our neighbors this time of year, Darius Rucker remembers to give back all year round. CMT Daily Roundup quotes Rucker as saying, “Giving back is just what you’re supposed to do. I mean, I’m a, I’m a blessed individual. God has blessed me with a great life and great kids and a great wife. And, and, you know, I like helping people if I can and, you know…giving back is how I do it, I guess.” Darius will no doubt have big plans for charity work in 2012. The singer will join Lady Antebellum for the 2012 leg of their Own the Night World Tour, which kicks off January 27th in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and also features Thompson Square.

You can hear Darius Rucker and Thompson Square every day on KIXS 108.
