On December 22, 2015, Nate Alvin Boehl was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is the son of Kelby and Megan Boehl. He will be in treatment for the next 3 years. His family and him have been through so much since then. Family and friends have come together to have a benefit this Saturday in Cuero. They have something for everyone from a Superhero 5k to garage sale, golf tournament, bake sale, silent auction, to a live auction and much more. The event is at Cuero Municipal Park and Clubhouse. Please keep this child in your prayers and thoughts.

Here is his mom’s first post on facebook : On December 22, 2015, little Nate Alvin Boehl was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We were shocked, scared, and blessed all at the same time. Shocked, because how can someone so young and innocent, be so sick? Scared, because how are we going to get through this? Why him/us? Blessed, because it is the most common type and easiest to heal in children. Blessed because it did not take us long to see how many people we had in our support system. The phone calls, texts, messages, ect., came pouring in. We knew very quickly we were not in this alone. We can not say enough how grateful we are to everyone.

On the 23rd Nate had surgery to have a mediport installed, along with some other procedures. This was a very stressful day! However, we got through it. In surgery he received his first dose of chemotherapy to his spine. At almost exactly 6:30PM, he received his first dose of chemo through his port. This was when the prayer service started at St. Michaels. We were so very touched by the large amount of people who attended. We sat around looking at pictures and crying at all who went and prayed for us. It was a true blessing!

The last two days, we have received more blood and took it easy. We have watched LOTS of Mickey Mouse and Jake and the Never Land Pirates. We visited the play room and took several spins around the hall in a cool little car that Nate has learned to love. We FaceTime home to see our sweet baby Caleb. We know he is in absolute wonderful care. There have been several visitors who have stopped by to bring food, clothes, blankets, love, and lots of toys! Again, we are truly grateful.

Thanks again for everything. I will be posting daily updates and pictures as we go through this journey. Nothing about this will be quick or easy. There is a very intense and detailed treatment plan in place. We love our doctors, nurses, and staff here at Driscolls. We have a very long and bumpy road ahead! Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again
