Downtown Cuero will be transformed into a winter playland starting Thursday for the inaugural Christmas in Downtown event. "The event plans to draw families to downtown for an old-fashioned Christmas experience to complement the already successful and highly attended Christmas in the Park," Bridgette Bise, director of the Cuero Main Street Program, told the Victoria Advocate.

The three-day event will include an artificial ice skating rink, a life-size snow globe in which families and groups of up to six can get inside and have a photograph taken and horse-drawn carriage rides. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand all three days. Other planned activities include a carousel and a Christmas treasure hunt.

Event hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. For more details on Cuero Main Street's Christmas In Downtown, visit the Cuero Main Street website or become a fan of the Cuero Main Street Facebook page.
