Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane brought a little country to New York City Friday night (Nov. 11) with a performance of "You Are My Sunshine" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The two-time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year and his wife took the late night stage to perform the track off of the album, Southern Family, a compilation project created by Stapleton's producer, Dave Cobb.

The beloved country music couple harmonize stunningly on the emotional song, accompanied by fitting yellow lightning in the background. While Stapleton is known for his strong and gritty voice, Morgane shows off her own impressive vocal chops throughout the performance, with Chris also demonstrating his guitar skills and Fallon enthusiastically praising them for the "fantastic" delivery at the song's conclusion.

The husband-and-wife duo's rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" was nominated for Musical Event of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards. Southern Family centers around the theme of family and reflects the southern upbringing of the artists featured on the album, including Zac Brown Band, Anderson East, Miranda Lambert and more in addition to Stapleton.

Stapleton was recently announced as one of the headliners at 2017's Country on the River in Wisconsin and the 2017 Tortuga Music Festival in April in Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, Fla., where he'll play with superstars Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan. In addition to his big Male Vocalist of the Year win, the "Nobody to Blame" singer also picked up a CMA for Music Video of the Year for "Fire Away" and took the stage with fellow country star Dwight Yoakam to perform Willie Nelson and Ray Charles' "Seven Spanish Angels" at the 50th annual awards ceremony.
