In the Texas Country music scene, there are acts renowned for putting their whole heart into their live performances and truly bringing it show after show. The Casey Donahew Band does just that. Take for instance the band’s leader and namesake, Casey Donahew, and his admiration for one of country music’s greatest stage presences. Donahew cites Garth Brooks as being a huge inspiration for him as a songwriter and performer. Donahew, a Burleson, TX native, first cut his teeth as a musician back in 2002 at venues like the Thirsty Armadillo in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

National Night Out October 7th

National Night Out will be celebrated in Victoria on Oct. 7. National Night Out will kick off with a bang of entertainment this year. From magic shows and juggling to dancing by East and West High School's Ballet Foklorico groups, entertainment will be the focus of the annual event, which is hosted by the Victoria Police Department. ‘Corporate Cup’ Begins Tuesday

Starting Tuesday, teams from area companies will compete in the 28th annual YMCA Corporate Cup, which promotes good health, wellness and company morale. The opening ceremony begins at 6 p.m. at the Victoria Adult Softball Complex and launches the competition with tug-of-war and volleyball. The events run through Sept. 27, ending with a company picnic and awards ceremony at Lowe Field in Riverside Park.
