AUSTIN - According to a news release from TxDOT, vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers. In an effort to curb this deadly trend, the Texas Department of Transportation is partnering with more than 900 Texas high schools to remind teens to “Click It or Ticket.”

The University of Houston-Victoria is preparing to welcome a second wave of potential students to campus at the end of January. The next Jaguar Day is scheduled for Jan. 31. The day will begin with check-in at 10 a.m. in the lobby of Jaguar Hall, 2705 Houston Highway. The event will continue until about 2 p.m. and is open to any interested student.
Victoria College President Dr. Tom Butler announced his retirement Tuesday, according to a Victoria College news release. Butler has served as president of Victoria College since Sept. 2008 and will continue in this role through the end of August.
