News Release 2/17/15--H-E-B launches its tearpad fundraising campaign benefitting March of Dimes Texas Chapter and 2015 March for Babies. The campaign, taking place from now until March 31, 2015, offers Texas H-E-B and Central Market customers the opportunity to contribute to the March of Dimes by adding a donation in increments of $1, $3, or $5 to their total grocery bill.

KC #1329, Airline Road and Ben Wilson Street in Victoria, is holding a BBQ chicken fundraiser Sunday. Prices are $7 per chicken or three for $20. Spanish rice and beans are available for $1.50 per pint.

Goliad's Astron Club's Taste of Goliad will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Goliad Memorial Auditorium. H-E-B is underwriting this year's event. More than 18 food and drink samples will be offered by local and area restaurants and by members of the Astron Club. Empresario Restaurant, Werner's Smokehouse BBQ, Goliad Senior Citizens and Flavor of Old Goliad are some of those passing out flavorful

The Victoria 'Empty Bowls Project' will be Sunday starting at 11am at the Victoria College Student Center, 2200 E. Red River Street in Victoria. Handcrafted bowls made by current and former VC art students, Victoria East High School students and area potters will sell for $15, which will entitle attendees to a bowl of soup, bread and a drink.

There will be a meeting concerning the 'Goliad County Relay For Life' this evening at 6pm at the Goliad Presbyterian Church, 114 North Market in Goliad.

Citizens Medical Center Employee Activities Committee began a blanket and coat drive after brainstorming ways they could help others, said Shannon Spree, Citizens Medical Center's marketing director. Temperatures dropped drastically the first week of the year, and they knew there were a lot of people who didn't have adequate shelter or clothing to stay warm, she said.
