Crossroads Community Band

Crossroads music fans will have their listening pleasure doubled when the Crossroads Community Band and Victoria College Choir and the Victoria Civic Chorus perform in two separate concerts. The Crossroads Community Band will perform a “Band Geeks Unite” concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is free and open to the public.

Featured will be traditional instrumental concert band music that ranges from John Philip Sousa marches, operatic music by Puccini to great American Blues by Jack End. Symphony music from the “Lord of the Rings” film will also be performed, Ken Peach, Crossroads Community Band music director, told the Victoria Advocate.

The band rehearses Tuesday nights in the Victoria College band hall. The group is affiliated with Victoria College, and students may enroll in the band for VC music ensemble credit. Founded in 2009, the Crossroads Community Band consists of instrumentalists from all walks of life including retirees, teachers, doctors, librarians, engineers, computer specialists, business professionals, high school and college students and musicians.
