Saturday's Victoria Livestock Show parade is moving back to Laurent Street.

According to the Victoria Advocate, the parade will boast about 45 entries this year, all of which will march one mile from East Red River Street to East Crestwood Drive.

After a few years hiatus to North Street, the parade will hit the ground on the newly paved streets of Laurent at 10 a.m.

This year's grand marshal is Joe Janak, the Victoria County extension agent who is retiring after serving 34 years.

"Come on out, and enjoy the day," said parade chairman Nick Rodriguez. "Hopefully it will be a nice day, and we'll have a good parade."

And when the last float has passed, the day isn't over yet. To kick off the livestock show, which officially begins Thursday, there will also be a barbecue cook-off, pet show and wiener dog races at the Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North St.

This years Victoria Livestock show should prove to be more fun than ever!
