BBB: Students Give Financial Aid Scams a Failing Grade

The college fall semester will kick off soon, so now is the time to beware of scams targeting students. Scholarships and financial aid are a great way to help with the high cost of education. Even though finances have already been planned out for the school year, scammers still use this time as an opportunity to take advantage of students and parents. KIXS Studio Gets New Blinds

The Townsquare Media-Victoria studios and offices building was built in 1984. Sometime along the way, vertical blinds were installed throughout the building. They were Aggies maroon in color, as a tribute to the then-general manager's alma mater. Well, a lot of years have gone by, and the once-proud maroon blinds had faded to an almost pink tint, and the mechanics to open and close them have long since quit working. So, thanks to Budget Blinds, the KIXS studio was the first room in the building to have those tattered old vertical blinds replaced with brand-new, ivory-white colored roll-up blinds! Check out the "before" and "after" pictures!

Help Your Neighbors Here In The Crossroads

Recent news stories of single-family fires here in the Crossroads region reminded me of the time my wife and I spent as volunteers with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team in our previous home area of Northeast Arkansas. We saw first-hand how the Red Cross can make a difference in the lives of families who have been victims of a fire in their home. Local Red Cross chapters can offer assistance with temporary shelter, food, and clothing, as well as diapers, medicines, and other immediate needs. But did you know that the Red Cross receives NO government funding?
