Not too long ago, we reported that ABC staked a claim in Nashville to film the pilot for a new TV drama by the same name. Starring Connie Britton (the mainstay guidance counselor and coach’s wife on ‘Friday Night Lights’), ‘Heroes’ beauty Hayden Panettiere and a handful of other experienced stars, this show about the behind-the-scenes drama in country music is sure to be a hit. Just check out the ‘Nashville’ trailer (below) and you’ll understand why.
By now, everyone knows that award-winning country star Taylor Swift has a huge heart. And thanks to her award-winning, record-breaking music career, the ‘Mean’ hitmaker has a hefty bank account, too. What do you get when you put those things together? A gigantic donation to a new education center at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Taylor Swift‘s rocking singing voice in this cryptic song has been the perfect addition to ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack, but so far, we haven’t seen the ‘Eyes Open’ and ‘Safe & Sound’ singer do much with the music she made for the movie (other than contribute to an awesome soundtrack, of course). Until now, that is. Swift just released a creative stop-motion lyric video of her hit song ‘Eyes Open‘ — and we can’t get enough.
It’s been nearly a year since Trace Adkins‘ Brentwood, Tenn., home was destroyed by an electrical fire. And even though the tragedy lies many months behind Adkins, his wife Rhonda, and their five daughters, the patriotic country singer still vividly remembers the day he and his family lost everything.
Carrie Underwood and husband, Nashville Predators star Mike Fisher, will celebrate their second anniversary in July. Of course, we’re all happy for them. But what’s really burning up fans’ minds is one question: When will they have a baby? During an interview with Oprah, which will air on Sunday May 20 at 9PM ET on OWN, the infamous talk show host asked them the big question. And it sounds like Mr. and Mrs. Fisher have differing opinions on when to have kids!
For the past few months, Jason Aldean has been performing hits on his My Kinda Party Tour accompanied by openers Luke Bryan and Lauren Alaina. And frequently, Aldean and Bryan have given concertgoers a treat by covering Tracy Lawrence‘s No. 1 hit, ‘Time Marches On’ together. On Thursday night (May 17) however, the country stars gave fans in Birmingham, Ala., a major surprise when Lawrence himself walked onstage to perform the song.
Carrie Underwood has really been making her rounds to promote ‘Blown Away,’ her newest album release. And while the entire album has received critical acclaim from the media, ‘Good Girl’ — the first single from the record — is her most performed song nowadays. On Tuesday night (May 15), Underwood took the soulful anthem to the stage on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ where she was accompanied by four dancers who tore up the rug.
If you aren’t a fan of Miranda Lambert, try reading her latest interview in Self Magazine. The bold country songstress lets loose with her interviewer, dishing about her body issues (or lack therof), her marriage to Blake Shelton and what it’s like to live on the road. This one is a must-read not just for country music fans, but for anyone who has struggled with their self image in the past.
Calling all rodeo fans! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo — one of the biggest events of its kind in the country — has announced a killer line-up for 2013. In addition to the usual events, like calf scrambles, chuck wagons races, and of course the rodeo itself, Rodeo Houston is known for putting on some killer country music shows with the biggest names in the biz. It’s Friday, so everybody deserves a good laugh, right? Luckily, we have just the thing to do the trick! Last night, Carrie Underwood teamed up with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel to create a spoof of her music video for ‘Before He Cheats.’ Check out their new clip of ‘Before He Freaks’ to increase the laugh factor in your Friday.
Everybody knows that Vince Gill is a multi-talented country music star. After all, you don’t become a member of the Grand Ole Opry and get inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame for nothing. Unfortunately, it’s not often that Gill’s fans get a taste of exactly how talented he is. But this year, the multi-instrumentalist will take to the road to play a 12-date bluegrass tour — proving to fans and critics that his bluegrass roots are still intact.
