Jackson County Youth Fair Parade Saturday

The Jackson County Youth Fair kicks off Saturday with a parade through downtown Edna. From first responders with area fire departments to student marching bands, more than 80 entries are expected to participate in the longest running parade in the county. This year marks the 65th anniversary, said Dee Darilek, event organizer.

Blessing of Pets Thursday

The Pet Blessing is in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi.  His feast day is Oct 4, therefore, every October we have a pet blessing at school.  This year Deacon Steve Borowicz will be at Nazareth Academy Catholic School on Thursday Oct 2 to bless student's animals.

Casey Donahew Band “Livin’ the Double Wide Dream”

In the Texas Country music scene, there are acts renowned for putting their whole heart into their live performances and truly bringing it show after show. The Casey Donahew Band does just that. Take for instance the band’s leader and namesake, Casey Donahew, and his admiration for one of country music’s greatest stage presences. Donahew cites Garth Brooks as being a huge inspiration for him as a songwriter and performer. Donahew, a Burleson, TX native, first cut his teeth as a musician back in 2002 at venues like the Thirsty Armadillo in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
