And You Thought Coffee Was Bad.

I was looking over the front page of Yahoo the other day and noticed a story that really got me thinking. After all these years of thinking coffee is not for me, I might have to change that.

I will drink coffee only if it has loads of sugar and cream. I also really like mocha frappacinos from either Starbucks or Hastingssince they give me the energy I need in the morning. That was the reason I drink those, but after doing a little research coffee actually has some really good benefits.

Coffee will protect your heart. Coffee drinkers that drink about 1-3 cups of coffee a day have lower rates of stroke than noncoffee drinkers. It actually has more antioxidents than blueberries.

It also helps with Diabetes. People who drink 4 or more cups of coffee a day have a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Also, the more coffee you drink, the more it lowers the chances of cirrhosis and other liver diseases. It also may prevent liver inflammation and inhibit cancer cells.

Another good reason to drink coffee or loads of it in this case is that it helps reduce risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, even Parkinson’s. This one is my favorite as I get headaches quite often. Drinking coffee provides relief from headaches, even migraines.

That actually makes sense due to the fact that sometimes when I go without caffeine for a long period of time, it’s often due to the lack of caffeine. So after I drink a soda or a mocha frappacino, my headache goes away.

So who said coffee was completely bad for you? Plus, if your grandmother ever told you that coffee made you short or made you stop growing, she lied to you.

Ok, so maybe it wasn’t a lie but an honest innocent fib. The only bad thing I can think of when drinking coffee is the fact that if you do drink it in the morning, well what happens after a few hours of drinking it? That’s right you feel tired once again so there you go for another round.

Plus the amount of calories in a mocha frappacino is ridiculous so those two are pretty much the only reasons I can think of why coffee isn’t good for you. Otherwise it helps with your heart, headaches, liver, diabetes and your brain. So what are you waiting on? Go treat yourself to another cup!
