Yikes! Amazon UK Sees Giant Spike in Sales of Aluminum Bats, Clubs During London Riots
As the London enters another day of rioting, looters and bystanders have taken to the web to arm themselves. Amazon’s UK site has seen scary-high spikes in sales of blunt objects over the past 24 hours, including a 50,000% spike in clubs and a more than 35,000% spike among different aluminum baseball bat models.
The products were spotted at the top of the ‘Movers & Shakers’ tab in the site’s Sports & Leisure section, which charts items seeing a remarkably sharp increase in sales.
More than 560 arrests have been made and one citizen has died during the riots, which are now spreading to other areas of Britain.
