Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity wants to give students a chance to participate in a youth leadership development seminar. As part of its annual event featuring inspirational speakers, Marcus Luttrell will speak May 10 about his experiences as a Navy SEAL. In the past, Habitat has brought in Soul Surfer Bethany Hamilton and NFL and "Dancing with the Stars" legend Emmitt Smith.

Fifty students from the Golden Crescent area will have an opportunity to meet with Luttrell's good friend and former SEAL Billy Wagasy during the seminar, says the Victoria Advocate. Students will be led through four leadership topics based on respect, honor and service. Following the seminar, the students will have the opportunity to hear Luttrell speak.

Eligible students must be in high school and have an active-duty or veteran family member. Applications are available in all area high school counselor offices and at the Habitat office, 207 N. Glass St. For more information about the event or seminar, call 361-573-2511.
