40th Annual Czhilispiel This Weekend

Flatonia's 4oth annual Czhilispiel is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you're looking for a weekend full of family fun, you've come to the right place!!

Admission for the 3 day festival is as follows:

Friday, October 26th:  6pm - midnight - Free admission for everyone

Saturday, October 27th:  8am - 1am - $7 admission before 2pm; $15 after 2pm (children 12 and under are free all day)

Sunday, October 28th:  10am - 8pm - Free admission for everyone

Czhilispiel began as a fundraiser to help fund a local Flatonia student's medical school education.  At the time Flatonia needed a doctor, so the residents organized the Czech heritage festival and chili cook-off, Czhilispiel.  The student agreed to serve the community for at least five years after completing medical school, but ended up staying longer.  Czhilispiel continues to use proceeds from the event to benefit local needs, whether for students or community services.
