This weeks UHV Athlete of the Week honors go to Kyle Bludau.
Player: Kyle Bludau, First baseman/Designated hitter
Classification: Senior
Hometown: Schulenburg, Texas
High School/Previous School: Schulenburg High School/Temple Junior College
Statistics for the Week: Played a key role in helping the Jaguars snap a 20-game losing streak to LSU-Shreveport and then go on to sweep a four-game Red River Athletic Conference series from the Pilots. In the opening game he went 1-for-3 with three RBIs in a 9-5 win that snapped the losing streak to the Pilots. On the week, he compiled a .375 batting average going 6-for-16 at the plate with six RBIs and two runs. He also finished with two doubles and a 0.500 slugging percentage.
Major: 4-8 Generalist – special education
What advice would you give to a younger player about the sport you are involved in that would help them improve? Believe in your dreams and continue to put in the hard work.
What is your background and experience in the sport you participate in? I played summer ball every year, as well as for Schulenburg High School and Temple JC. I also won a national championship in select league.
What is your favorite food? Chinese food
