The 47th annual awards show was the second most-watched broadcast for the CMA Awards in eight years. The program, which was on ABC, helped the network rise to No. 1 that night. It was also the network's first win on an opening Wednesday sweeps night since Nov. 2007.

CBS wasn't even a close second with 7.3 million less viewers than the CMA Awards. The evening proved to appeal to a broad audience, since it was No. 1 with all adult, teens and even kid demographics.
