Casey James, JB and the Moonshine Band to Lead 2012 Taste of Country Christmas Tour
Casey James will bring fellow Texans JB and the Moonshine Band on the road with him this fall as they take the Taste of Country Christmas Tour across the southern United States. The 11-stop run pairs two of the hottest young acts in country music on a trip through Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas during the holiday season.
When chatting with Casey James recently, he told Taste of Country about his goal list, which includes a few check marks seemingly tailor-made for the holiday. “It’s about being able to spend time with friends and family,” he says of what’s important to him. “Spending time with my dogs. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s the little things.”
JB and the Moonshine Band frontman JB Patterson is also gearing up to spend time with those close to him — the band’s fans. Patterson assured that the shows at theaters and country honkytonks will still be as rowdy as fans have become used to. Maybe he’ll even work in a holiday classic.
“Perhaps… ‘Santa Got Ran Over By a Reindeer’ or ‘Jingle bells / Batman smells‘ or any of the old classics,” he says with a chuckle before talking about the band’s history and the songs on their new ‘Beer for Breakfast’ album.
Because it is a Christmas tour, Patterson couldn’t help but discuss some of his favorite gifts as a child. He remembers a 10-pump Daisy BB gun that could take BBs or pellets. “No I didn’t shoot my eye out with it because I was taught gun safety from an early age,” he says, laughing.
“I think that BB gun even helped promote gun safety. So I will be getting my son a BB gun,” he reveals. “I know it’s probably gonna be a debate in my household, but I think five years old, I think that’s old enough to have a BB gun.”
