One of my favorite things about Victoria and the surrounding communities is the wide range of music that is performed live on any given day or evening.

Sopranos Patricia Balmer and Eugenie Fuhrman will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Johnson Symposium on Victoria College's main campus. The concert, the third in VC's 2013-14 Guest and Faculty Recital Series, is free and open to the public.

The two private voice instructors will perform one duet and a variety of solo vocal works assisted by Ruth Williams on the piano and Marylynn Fletcher on piano and violin. The concert will feature works of Antonio Vivaldi, Franz Schubert, Alban Berg, Franz Liszt, Leonard Bernstein, Harry Wayne, Lori Laitman, Eric Whitacre and Fernando Obradors. Fuhrman will sing works in Latin, English, German and Hebrew. Balmer will sing works in Latin, English, German, French and Spanish.
